Here’s a bunch of Europeans who still believe in Europe. And know exactly what it must do: get stronger. The only question, the €64,000 billion question, is whether our national politics will allow us to do it.

I know Europe is important! It’s our first Mother and formative for US. Without France and England we would not be US. And without Timothy Garton Ash, although Mamdani doesn’t mention him, we might not have all of Tony Judt. Thank you, TGA, and though at 92, buying stamps for 84 GOTV postcards a week (as long as I can write them) at $.61 apiece I cannot afford you, thank you for reminding US of our debt to Europe.
