From the Netherlands: what you say about Constitutional Monarchies has been my point during the US no-kings storm.

Another nuance: the US superiority drenched simplistic no-kings conception of Monachy is outdated by a few centuries in which we-the-‘subordinates’ educated our monarchs as equals and to our liking - we went to school with them.

Good and interesting Tim. But also interesting to consider what it was in the 1930’s that made fascism seem like a good idea to so many people in Germany, Italy, Austria, Spain? Maybe it was the failure of the middle ground, in terms of hope, of energy, of effectiveness. And the rise of extremism.
