In conversation with Gideon Rachman...
& another with Fiona Hill, Margaret MacMillan, Rana Mitter & Anand Menon
History of the Present (30 days ending 22 November 2025)

I’ve been rather quiet on this platform because I’m working to finish a new book, a very short introduction to Europe. But I thought you’d be interested in two recorded conversations I had recently with people who have very interesting things to say about the world.
The first was with Gideon Rachman of the FT for his podcast:
The second was with Anand Menon, Fiona Hill, Margaret MacMillan and Rana Mitter, over a virtual lunch for the excellent UK in a Changing Europe project:
Enjoy.
A new post should be coming to you some time next week.

TGA

Wonderful with Rachman. But the current British government is way too cowardly and we still obsess over the USA who is now no longer a friendly country. So ten cheers as always for TGA but I am not an optimist... Looking forward to the new book! I hope to finish CA's wonderful trilogy in time to read the next TGA book.
