Part of this may be a recognition that where Europe is concerned, Israel is not an ally or in any way helpful. It too is behaving as a rogue state so unsurprisingly it is allied to the USA and totally dependent on it. This is in stark contrast to Ukraine.

A withdrawal of US access to European bases as supply routes to Israel should also be on the cards along with the withdrawal of any support by European countries for US and Israeli activity in the area unless it is very explicitly in European interests. This also tackles the obvious contradiction seen by the rest of the world, between condemnation of Russia and apparent silence on Israel's genocide in Gaza and West Bank. Treat Russia and Israel the same

The reason Trump wants Greenland is the wealth of Rare Earth Minerals which are nearer the surface there than in most other locations. Why has Denmark and Greenland allowed this vital resource to go unexploited for so long? Don’t tell me because it is obvious that the nature of the mining operation is dirty, polluting and overall messy. The type of enterprise that China and America love because they will outsource the dirty part and keep the profits.

It is only too obvious that Europe responds to the threat of tariffs with its own tariffs on a beggar my neighbour basis, as in the 1930’s but it would be better to simply end all the facilities America has in Europe over a five year period, sell 50% of the American Bonds we hold, require Visas for all tourist and diplomatic visitors and generally indicate that we are not happy with American behaviour. JD Vance can and will tell us we are ungrateful, which we are, and that America will withdraw its membership of NATO but this was always a game of bluff and we need our best poker players at the helm.
